HEDIA ANVAR is a New Yorker transplanted to Los Angeles by way of Tehran. Somewhere in between, she lived in France and Italy, which either expanded her world-view or culturally befuddled her. Her creative dabbling speaks to a storytelling drive, rampant since childhood when she put on plays in the backyard for her aunts and uncles in Iran. Her foray into film began as an actor, and with a do-it-yourself sensibility and subzero-budgets, in the last several years, Hedia wrote and directed over a dozen short films, many of which have won awards. She lives up to the ideal of an artistic cooperative and refuses to believe true independent filmmaking is a myth.

GAVIN STOKES files a lot of online bug reports. In almost ten years as a software engineer at Apple, he finally saw the first bug he filed fixed: you can now resize Mac OS windows from their edges. That's what you achieve when you grow up on the North Shore of Chicago, where John Hughes made most of his movies. Gavin started shooting and editing Super-8 film in elementary school, and then attended the high school on which Breakfast Club was based. He earned a journalism degree and then, perplexingly, took a series of jobs at Big-6 consulting firms. After a software-engineering stint at Red Camera, Gavin finally works behind cameras most of the time.
